Our Rates and Terms
Tarief één: trimester
General terms and conditions for trimester rate
Tip: with this rate it is also easier for the teacher to provide a study program.
Planning:
A time slot is reserved for you every week or every two weeks.
The school year is divided into trimesters, with 11 lessons in each trimester. Trimesters run as follows: October-December (starting September 30); January-March; April-June (starting June 30) and July-September.
There will be various collective activities planned during the school year (student and teacher concerts, instrumental workshops, excursions and group lessons). We ask our students not to miss these and to participate as much as possible.
Payment:
When you register, you will receive a "quote". You will then be given the choice to pay the trimester in one go or in three equal monthly invoices. We kindly request that you pay the invoice as soon as possible and no later than 14 days after receipt.
If you pay for 10 lessons in a trimester, you will receive the 11th lesson for free (this lesson can also serve as a catch-up lesson).
Courses for >21 year old students according to tax law are subject to 21% VAT.
We understand that it is difficult to plan lessons during the summer. That is why you will receive an invoice in the summer month (July-September) with the number of lessons followed per calendar month. The trimester flat rate does not apply during this period.
Cancellations and missed lessons:
By the students:
Please notify us by a message to the administration or via the student portal.
Absences reported more than 24 hours in advance can be made up at a later time if your teacher agrees. But please note: our teachers are (almost) full and often do not have any catch-up times. Therefore this extra time is not "due" by the teacher.
A catch-up time slot can - depending on availability - be reserved via the student portal or can be arranged directly with the teacher.
Think also about an online lesson or an "asynchronous lesson" solutions: both are as effective and have their advantages!
Lessons that are cancelled less than 24 hours in advance are always due.
The no-shows or cancellations after the start of the lesson are always 100% due.
By the teachers:
Our goal is to provide regular lessons to maintain constant progress. However, all of our teachers are also concert musicians (yay!) and, of course, life happens.
Student or parent will be notified as soon as the cancellation is known via a text from the teacher or the administration.
If one of our teachers has to cancel a lesson, we will offer you an alternative time or a replacement teacher can step in to help.
Alternative formats can also be proposed: an online lesson or an "asynchronous lesson" are both as effective and have their advantages. Therefore, they not lead to a reduction of the price for the lesson.
If for some reason these solutions do not work and a lesson cannot be offered in an alternative format, then of course you will not be charged for that lesson.
Deregistration
We would hate to see you go, but finding the best teacher or thriving in your music-making is your absolute priority over trying to retain you as a student.
You can unsubscribe during the first month after your regular lessons start (yes, sometimes it doesn’t click).
You can also deregister at the end of each term (end of December/April/June). Please give us a few weeks notice, whenever possible.
We believe in trust-based business relationships and skip the tedious contract signing process. However, if you make a fixed appointment with one of our teachers, we assume that you also agree to these terms. In every situation, our priorities are the success of the student and the working comfort of our teachers.
You take out a subscription for your child for 30 minutes of music lessons for the first trimester (October, November and December).
The lessons are given in weeks 40, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 and 51 (11 weeks in total - we follow the Regio Noord holiday schedule). So, during this trimester you get 11 lessons (and then pay 10). The total amount is 10*27.90€ = 279€. The total can be paid in one go or divided into three installments. Your monthly invoice for this trimester will then be 279€/3=93€ (note: lessons for >21 year old students according to the tax law are subject to 21% VAT above the example amount).
This system requires some calculations, but it gives our students comfortable flexibility (no commitment for the whole year) and it provides a predictable flat fee for both the teacher and the student/parent.

Remember: you do not only pay for the time that you are present at the lesson, but also for the time and attention that a teacher reserves for you.
Tarief twee: on-demand
Terms and conditions for on-demand rate
Upon registration you will receive a login for our student portal.
This rate gives you total flexibility: at the end of each lesson you agree on the next time slot with the teacher. You can also book your lesson time via your students on the portal.
You will receive an invoice for the desired amount of lessons (5 of 10).
With a one-time payment of 10 lessons you will receive one lesson for free :)
5 lessons subscription is valid for 6 months from the first lesson, 10/11 lessons subscription is valid for 9 months from the first lesson.
Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows are automatically considered billable by our system.
You are over 21 years old and you choose a subscription for 5 lessons of 45 minutes. You will receive an invoice with a total amount of €242, including 21% (€42) VAT. You can schedule the lessons at once or as-you-go.
You schedule your first lesson with your chosen teacher on September 20, 2024. We kindly request that you schedule the remaining 4 lessons before March 20, 2025.
