Muziekles op IJburg

What do we do?

Muziekles IJburg is a private music studio that opened on the island in 2022.
Our mission is to offer high-quality music education for adults and children — from beginners to advanced — in Amsterdam IJburg, Zeeburgereiland, and Diemen.

We offer tailor-made individual lessons in our studio, conveniently located next to Shopping Center IJburg.
Our model combines the flexibility of private instruction with the structure of a music school.
We provide music lessons on instruments such as piano, flute, and violin, as well as introductory courses for young children starting from age four.

Who are we?

We are a team of young, highly educated, experienced, and flexible musicians and music teachers: Anastasia, Liza, Elizabeth, and Apollon.
You can read more about us on the teachers’ page.

Lessons at home or in our studio?

We understand that families sometimes have busy schedules, and some parents prefer lessons at home.
That’s why we now offer more in-home lessons — our teachers are happy to guide your musical journey at your own location.

In such cases, it’s important to have a good instrument available.
But if you don’t have one yet — no worries! We’ll help you find one in no time.

the instruments that you can learn to play with us:

Piano

flute and recorder

violin

New: Guitar!

Piano

Beginners' lessons are given by all teachers. Advanced level lessons with Liz or Apollon.

The piano is a wonderful instrument for all ages — and perhaps one of the easiest ways to begin making music. You don’t need to spend weeks learning how to produce one beautiful note: press a key, and there it is. So from the very beginning, we can get straight to making music.

Would you like to surprise someone you love with a piece of music? Finally play that melody that has been living in your head for years? Accompany yourself while singing your favourite song? Or perhaps discover just how far all those black and white keys can take you if you really get into it?

On the piano, you can quite quickly play something that genuinely feels like music — and still spend a lifetime discovering more. From your first one-handed melodies to chords, playing together, improvisation and the great piano repertoire: how far you take it is ultimately up to you.

The piano lessons can be given in Dutch, English, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Russian and Latvian.

Violin

With Liza

Would you rather play a string instrument?

The violin is small enough to carry under your arm, yet powerful enough to fill an entire concert hall. It can sing, whisper, dance — and occasionally be wonderfully dramatic. From a simple children’s melody to film music, folk and the great classical violin repertoire, there is an enormous musical world to discover.

The violin is also a wonderful instrument for developing your ear and fine motor skills: you create every single note yourself, with your fingers and your bow. And if you would like to make music with others one day, you’re in luck — the violin is one of the most important and sought-after instruments in an orchestra.

Our violin teacher speaks English, Dutch,  Latvian and Russian.

Guitar

By Tiago

There is something special about the guitar: with just six strings, you have a whole little orchestra in your hands. You can play a melody, add chords, accompany someone singing — or do all of it at once.

Do you dream of being the person around the campfire who can actually play instead of just singing along? Want to figure out what is happening in that guitar riff you’ve heard a hundred times? Or simply start with your first melodies and chords?

From classical to pop, rock, jazz and film music, the guitar can take you in surprisingly many directions. And one more advantage: you can simply take it with you.

The guitar lessons can be given in Dutch, English and Portuguese.

flute, traverso and recorder

With Anastasia

Do you want to play an instrument that is close to the human voice? Or is the "Lonely Shepherd" one of your favourite pieces? Or do you want to play an instrument that is easy to take with you so that you can make music anywhere? Then flute/recorder lessons are for you!

Flute lessons can be given in Dutch, English and French.

Not only this, but also:

Unique Events

Auditions, teacher concerts, conservatory visits, instrumental workshops, and much more!
Our teachers also play music with students during lessons — our teaching method is based on duets, with either the teacher or another student.

Flexible booking and registration

Registration is possible all year round. You choose the lesson times together with your teacher. Would you rather have a lesson at your house? That is also an option.

We choose a suitable option — together.

For best results, we recommend taking music lessons every week. But we are flexible. Together we choose the best option - 30 or 45 minute lessons for children and 45 or 60 minute lessons for adults - every week or fortnight.
